We all know that children are multi-sensory learners. Sign language enhances learning experiences in young children by engaging sight, hearing, speaking, and doing while promoting the acceptance of differences and allowing for hands-on language learning in the early years. In addition, it is a tool for supporting self-esteem when children realize that someone understands them and they are responded to. This active workshop invites participants to learn songs, finger plays, stories, and interactions using American Sign Language to bring them in to the young child’s world of language.
