THE GROWING BRAIN – THE FACTORS AFFECTING BRAIN GROWTH and DEVELOPMENT Part 1 & Part 2
This innovative training curriculum gives evidence-informed strategies to prepare early childhood providers for their vital role in building healthy brains. The curriculum fills a unique niche by providing a comprehensive understanding of how the brain develops, along with ways professionals can encourage healthy brain development in children from birth to 5 years old. The goal of Unit 2 is for participants to understand the key factors that affect brain development and how to support health brain development overall. Participants will identify factors that affect brain growth and development; understand how stress can affect brain development; and learn strategies (the 5 R’s) for supporting healthy brain development. Attendance to both Part 1 and Part 2 are required to receive full credit for this training.
