Because infants bring out that feeling of protectiveness in us, both parents and caregivers experience the same heightened state of emotional arousal in relation to the baby. These strong feelings in both caregiver and parent can lead to a rich partnership in care. But they can also interfere with the two working together. This workshop focuses on the awareness of the power of these feelings and how they can help caregivers work with parents. We will discuss how caregivers can help parents with their fears and concerns then suggest how caregivers can deal with their own feelings.
