Health, safety, comfort, and developmental appropriateness can take on new dimensions when children with special needs are included in child care programs. Individualizing is the foundation of inclusion approaches. This is especially true when the focus is on the environment. Infants and toddlers need access to a variety of safe, responsive objects to explore in whatever way they can with the capabilities they have. This workshop will focus on both routines and the environment by examining Universal Design for Learning (UDL) practices to help infant/toddler care teachers make their programs accessible for ALL.
