APPROACHES to CHALLENGING BEHAVIOR
This training is designed to provide support for teachers and caregivers through information and discussions about what challenging behavior is, possible causes for the behavior, and how to deal with the behavior. We’ll explore examples and causes of challenging behavior, temperament/approaches to learning, the power of emotions, developmentally appropriate expectations of what children birth to 5 can do and can’t do yet, connections between brain development and behavior, and understanding challenging behavior as a type of communication. Participants will be able to define positive guidance as an effective approach to guiding young children on how to regulate their behavior, and purposefully plan to prevent from occurring in the first place.
